We've had a wonderful, refreshing revival with Bro. & Sis. Smith! Bro. Smith preached great messages and the Spirit of the Lord was present to heal and help. We of course, greatly enjoyed Sis. Smith's singing. (I tried to get her to teach SS class too, but to no avail ;) :)
Immediately before the revival, a member and his two young daughters were in an accident with a dump truck running a red light and hitting them. It totaled his car, but only suffered a bruised shoulder and the girls are fine. They were able to attend the revival. Another elderly member had someone forcefully enter her home and steal her purse and car. She got her car back and she was unhurt and was able to attend today. Thank God. Another member suffered dizziness and weakness during the revival, but we prayed for him and I believe the Lord touched him tonight. Another elderly lady was able to leave the nursing home and visit with her daughter. She lifted her right arm, which she hasn't been able to do in a long time while being prayed for! The Lord has interevened in all these events!!! We had members visit from around the state and also visitors who have never attended before.
We're looking forward to the Assembly and felt we just had a taste of the great things to come!
Now it's VBS this week............

Praise the Lord for the good report!
Our pastor also brought Bro. & Sis. Smith forward at the end of the Revival and had the ministers annoint them and all of us gather round and pray for them, for the Assembly, & for their strength and wisdom. The Holy Ghost was present and refreshing.
We all wanted to keep them, so we suggested that Bessemer would make a great headquarters for The Church of God! "Come out from among them" and move HQ to Bessemer!
Back in 1993 we tried to convince Brother Pruitt that it was biblical for the church to be established in the top of the mountain. Pike's Peak came to mind. ;-) He didn't buy it. The weather we've been enduring the past few weeks makes Pikes Peak sound VERY refreshing!!! Colorado, here we come! (I wish)
We thoroughly enjoyed the revival. We were refreshed and revived ourselves. Brother Smith always enjoys getting away and just being an evangelist--a regular preacher.
I forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed your Sunday School class. Excellent job.
So you would be snowed in for half the year? Bro. Smith actually suggested a rolling HQ. (you know, one of those buses like the Red Cross has :) North for the summer, south for the winter. But then, we'd have to let the air out of your tires ;) :)
Yes, we're still in triple digits this week.....~sigh~
Thanks (of course, you didn't know how much my hands were sweating up there :) I had you, Sis. Bishop, Sis. Fender and Sis. Johnson all in a row; front and center..(deep breath...relax...concentrate) Ha!
