Hubby's A.B.M. Boost

Here's my hubby's ABM boost notes. He had the "enviable" spot on program..after lunch, last auxilliary, right before the S.O. address and appointments :) He did good and kept it under his allotted time; short, sweet and to the point. And joked a little to wake everyone up about his SUPER short haircut.

Into HIS Harvest…Praying, Fasting and Working…AND Ministering with A Right Spirit.

As I began to think about this thought of Ministering with a Right Spirit…. I got to think how much trouble that I can get into when I do things with the wrong spirit or I say something the wrong way.

Any of you guys know what I am talking about. We can get in so much trouble with our wives in a big hurry and it "don’t take long to do it".

And it will take us 3 times as long to get out of trouble.

But when we do things with the right spirit …. And the right motive… Oh it is so much better …. we don’t have to sleep IN THE DOGHOUSE, and all the planets are aligned and Life is good.

When we as individual began to allow the lord full reign in our lives and start ministering with a right spirit we will begin to see The Church of God blessed and flourishing.

ABM is the department of pastoral care and it’s purpose is to see that each member of The Church of God is properly cared for. It is the place where we nurture members and learn how to live and minister in the right Spirit.

WHEN WE MINISTER WITH A RIGHT SPIRIT:

We’ll have the Spirit of Compassion: We’ll be more careful and more cautiously guard what we say and what we do to our brothers and sisters. We’ll be quick to pray and slow to anger. We’ll be eager to extend compassion and slow to judge.

We always talk about having compassion for the lost and sometimes we’re compassionate to people we love…people we like…people we UNDERSTAND. But sometimes, as soon as a person joins the church, we tend to expect them to “straighten up and fly right” immediately to meet our expectations. There are Physical, Spiritual and Emotional reasons why people act the way they do. Sometimes they may disturb our plans, but with compassion we can minister to the root of their needs. In doing so, God will extend compassion to us and our families:

2Chronicles 30:9 For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.


We’ll have the Spirit of Love:
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.


We’ll have the Spirit of Forgiveness:
Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.


We’ll have the Spirit of Unity:
When we minister with a right spirit there won’t be ism and schism in the church. There won’t be the Big I”s and Little U’s.

Eph 4:2-4 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;


We’ll have the Spirit of Prayer:
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.


We’ll have the Spirit of Wisdom:
Luk 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

1Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.


But before this can happen the groundwork has to be laid. The sacrifices have to be made and somebody has to be tired of the direction we are going.
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT WITH ME.

RENEW: to make like new : restore to freshness, vigor, or perfection
to make new spiritually : regenerate
to restore to existence : revive
to make extensive changes in : rebuild
to do again : repeat
to begin again : resume

When we are aligned in The Holy Ghost, with the right spirit, we will have the spirit of ABM. Sharing caring and keeping. Everything will come natural, we will be walking about doing good.

Out of the abundance of our hearts it will come forth.

Act 2:46-47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.


Let us Go into HIS Harvest….
