I had a Brain Storm - Hebrews 10

Brainstorm last night.

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

In chapter 10 Paul speaks about the Wilderness Tabernacle...then right in the middle of the chapter talks about not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. Did Paul change the subject and decide to start talking about church attendance instead? Nope, no subject change.

There were certain tribes responsible for transporting and assembling the tabernacle. Children of Isreal were required to assemble the Tabernacle first...before assembling their own tents. They were NOT to forsake the assembling themselves together. WE are human tabernacles of The Holy Ghost. A habitation of God...the Body of Christ. We are NOT to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is...but more as we see the day approaching...before all other activities of our lives. We're lively stones. You get the drift....


Heb 10:26-27 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Then when you go down into the chapter, you see the part that if we wilfully sin after knowing the truth that there is no more sacrifice for sins...but looking over the shoulder in fear of judgment. I flipped to Deuteronomy/Leviticus and all the sacrifices were done BECAUSE of sin, after sin was committed. If you sin without knowledge of the law and then find out about it...there is a sacrifice. If you sin on purpose, but are repententant..there is a sacrifice. Then there are sacrifices for the sins of the people once a year. The sacrifices were all for "sins past" not future sins like the OSAS people preach. The new Testament tells us that salvation is for "sins that are past".

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Imagine this: A person knowlingly, or unkowingly sins because of a lack of knowledge...and obeys the law and brings a lamb to atone for that sin to the gate of the Tabernacle. The Priests do their job and the sacrifice is made. If that man turns away from those gates and deliberately sins...then there is remaineth NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS. The lamb was already slain & completely burnt...nothing left of it. Even if he had unknowingly sinned in the past...because he knows the truth now...because the sacrifice was made for SINS PAST....NOT the one he just now deliberately committed. So until he makes another sacrifice (sometimes only once a year), he is afraid and looking over his shoulder for the judgment of God to fall on him.

However....if a man believes he can deliberately sin, sacrifice a lamb...sin and sacrifice a lamb...(get the drift?) It is like he is just deliverately stomping all over the sacrifice, he just made.

But Christ died (gave His life, was sacrificed) ONCE and for all the world:

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Romans 6:9-10, KJV

"But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. herefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, eeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did ONCE, when he offered up himself." Hebrews 7:24-27, KJV

"But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come,by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in ONCE into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." Hebrews 9:11-12, KJV

"For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now ONCE in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself . . . So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Hebrews 9:24-26, 28 KJV

LEST THE OSAS PEOPLE THINK THEY HAVE THE UPPER HAND. :)

Heb 10:28-31 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Heb 10:35-38 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
