There is no one certain way to receive the Baptism of The Holy Ghost. The following are general guidelines that one can use when working with someone in a classroom or the altar.
When? Best time is as soon as you are Saved & Sanctified.
Where? Altar, Home, Car, Anywhere
How? Praying, Singing, Worshipping
EXAMINE: Psa 26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you…
DESIRE: Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Mar 11:24-26 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
ASK: Luk 11:9-13 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Begging is like asking for bread, but expecting a stone.)
BELIEVE: GOD’S PROMISES ARE TRUE: Act 2:38-39 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. ("Do you believe that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is for you? "Do you believe that the Lord will baptize you with the Holy Ghost?" "Do you believe that He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost now?")
WORSHIP: Many are afraid to workship out loud. The Holy Ghost needs our lips and vocal chords to use for His glory. It is important that we prepare our voice in praise for the indwelling of The Holy Ghost, because it is by the evidence of Speaking in Tongues that we know that He has made his home within our hearts. In Worship, we are letting God know that He is worthy of our Adoration & Praise and how much we appreciate Him. Psa 109:30 I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. Grateful hearts, minds, soul, spirit and mouths thanking and praising God for His unspeakable gift. Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
SURRENDER: Psa 37:4-5 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. DON’T BE AFRAID: 1Jn 4:18,19 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear...We love him, because he first loved us.
RECEIVE: The Holy Ghost will move into and indwell a prepared vessel. He will finish your praise for you. He alone knows what praise is worthy of The Father. He will also pray for you. He alone knows your deepest needs now and what you will need for the future.
Mat 21:16 And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Don’t stop as soon as you hear The Holy Ghost speak! We are not seeking to speak in tongues. This is the evidence. Allow The Holy Ghost to fill you completely and make your calling & election sure. (2Pe 1:10)
Addressing Fears:
1. It is sometimes very difficult for people to know how to yield or to obey the Spirit. Because of unscriptural teachings, they are afraid to yield themselves to the Spirit for fear they will be in the flesh rather than in the Spirit. Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
2. Another Fear is that many people feel when the Holy Ghost baptism comes they will be completely knocked out and will have no idea what is taking place. Remember that the Holy Ghost is a gentleman and will not embarrass you. Perhaps this has happened in some cases, but it is the exception rather than the rule. The person who desires to be filled with the Holy Ghost must yield his entire being to the Lord for the Lord's use. He must realize the Holy Ghost is a Spirit and therefore He does not have a body; He does not have a human voice; He does not have vocal chords; He does not have a tongue, and therefore, the candidate must yield all of these faculties to the Spirit for Him to use as He sees fit. (Altar Ministers Guide-COGOP Evangelism Dept. Booklet)
3. Many persons feel they are not worthy to receive the Baptism of The Holy Ghost. Ask the seeker if they are assured of their Salvation...assured of their Sanctification. If the answers are in the affirmative, then assure them they are indeed worthy by the blood of Jesus Christ, and that we have the authority to resist and rebuke satan's lies in the name of Jesus because satan has no place in this house. Encourage the seeker to call upon the name of the Lord for assistance in this matter. Speaking the name of Jesus will cause the devil to flee.

The 2nd day of class was interesting. When a couple of girls found out they were going to be separated from the boys in my classroom also they became very angry. Although I had control of the class, I had to struggle to get this taught. I knew that most of the class was listening, but there was still a struggle.
I thought I might go over it again the next class day, but I felt the Lord tell me to print 10 copies and tell the class if anyone wishes to become an altar worker or a soul winner then they could come get copies of this lesson off the table after class.
My candy bag was sitting next to the handouts and I forgot and thought that some swarmed the table for the candy...but realized later that night that all 10 of the handouts were gone and no one else had asked me for a copy.
If the girls got angry for being separated from the boys, it's a SURE SIGN they NEEDED to be separated, huh? So sad. Silly girls in bondage and they don't even realize it. Sad, sad. Young girls miss out on so much when they're shackled by "dating chains."
