Baptism of The Holy Ghost

Baptism means to be "immersed". To be baptized with the Holy Ghost is to be immersed in the Holy Ghost. The scriptures also speak of being "filled" and being "full" of the Holy Ghost. Together, the imagery of being immersed and filled with and of the Holy Ghost at the same time almost seems like being "drowned" doesn't it?

In an actual water baptism, we are plunged underneath the water. Take an open glass and plunge it under water and hold it there. It is submerged and filled all at the same time. THAT's how we are to be filled with the Holy Ghost! Completely full, surrounded, filled, submersed, submerged...even "drowned" in The Holy Ghost!

Want to be a soul winner? Get baptized (immersed) with the Holy Ghost. He will lead you to the harvest, tell you what to say, and bring conviction upon willing hearts. Luk 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

Want to understand Bible doctrine? Want to know Truth? Be baptized with the Holy Ghost! The Holy Ghost inspired (God breathed) Bible doctrine. He is the Spirit of Truth and will guide you into ALL Truth. Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Want to get along with with your Brothers and Sisters in the Lord. Want to have unity prevail in The Church of God? Be Baptized with the Holy Ghost! Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

The Holy Ghost is not an ACCESSORY. The Holy Ghost is a NECESSITY. Want to live Holy? Be Baptized with The Holy Ghost!

If you are on your death bed or dying soon (think Thief on the Cross) then Salvation is all you need. However, if you are planning on living a long victorious life, or hoping to live to see the Rapture, you will HAVE to be Sanctified, and be baptised with the Holy Ghost to endure to the very end. The Holy Ghost doesn't make us pentecostal, He makes us Holy.

WHAT??? I thought the Holy Ghost was just for speaking in tongues and dancing. Of course I don't REALLY think that, but that's the way many people act. Too often I've seen "Holy Ghost demonstrations" in the church building, but less than stellar Christian attributes displayed outside the church doors. As you said, the Holy Ghost makes us TALK holy, ACT holy, REact holy, LOOK holy, LIVE holy and just BE HOLY. When we ARE immersed in the Holy Ghost we don't have to guard ourselves and work at it--holiness is just a natural product. I desire to be IMMERSED in the Holy Ghost, with nothing between my soul and the Savior.

AMEN SIS. SMITH!!!!

Another thot of mine on this subject:

I would rather sit under Holy Ghost preaching than dance and shout. If we have a dance and shout service, then I am of the mind that we THEN need to sit down and listen to the preacher...to give that time back to God so that we can hear his word, even if it means going past the lunch hour.

I don't always count a service where "the preacher didn't even get to preach!" as a victory...especially at youth camps where the youth DESPERATELY need to hear God's Word.

Emotions will bless us briefly, but the Word of God will bless and carry us forever.
