9:45 Be On Prayer Time!

Ya'll know we love to create fun & excitement for Sunday School with programs and crusades. However, while thinking and praying about the new year: the illnesses plaguing everyone (tis the season for stuffy noses & walking pneumonia), the rainy bad weather, etc.....Mike came to a decision that was inspired by our Sunday School lessons.

For the month of February,(maybe longer, who knows) Bessemer will be having Prayer Time from 9:45am to 10:00am. We actually started earlier than that and ended about 9:55 so Mike was able to read scriptures and then dismiss to class.

It was real blessing to me to hear everyone praying at the altar first thing. We had a sign on the front door that said, "Quiet Please. Prayer Time 9:45am - 10:00am" to remind everyone to enter reverently...not our usual boisterous selves. :-P As everyone trickled in, they would quietly enter and find a place to pray.

Really set the tone for the rest of the day.

Sounds neat. Our pastor has asked us to come 30 minutes early to Sunday night and Wednesday night services to pray. It really does make you feel good to hear and experience the special blessing of added prayer. It's the "faithful few" who always participate, but with perseverance and trust in the Lord I expect to see the number of "faithful few" to grow. Prayer truly is the key that unlocks the door!

I can make it 30 minutes early for Sunday am & pm...but Wed. nights racing home in rush hour traffic make it difficult.
